Liverpool’s fixture list could distract the players says Klopp

"For a month in the Premier League, we knew it would be nearly impossible - possible, but very hard - if we dropped points". Four games to play.

Winning put Klopp's side back on top of Manchester City in the title race, after Pep Guardiola's side had beaten Crystal Palace earlier in the day, with the defending champions still having a game in hand.

"Good, let's try. Let's try that".

"And if that's enough, then ideal".

"Very smart people say "if you'd won at Leicester you'd be champions" and stuff like this but it's all b*******".

Manager Klopp said: "We controlled and dominated the game for 80 minutes, which is the best you can say about a game against Chelsea".

"It's all bulls**t. People and idiots bring something like this up". What we want to do is collect as many points as possible, really - 85 points, four games to play, that means [we can get] 97.

"Our plan was to arrive in the last 25 minutes at 0-0, because of course they needed to win, and we knew we could find a lot of spaces then", he said.

The victory over Chelsea was encapsulated in a couple of two-minute episodes in the second half.

From a players' point of view, after his world-class strike into the top left corner of the Chelsea goal, Salah has admitted that following the scores of other games may help to spur his team on.

"But we took our time and we closed them out and never gave them too many chances, and in the second half we came out all guns blazing and finished them off".

Shay Given has become an internet session after he was seen scoffing down a mid match meal whilst on television duty as Mo Salah smashed in Liverpool's second goal against Chelsea on Sunday.

"That was one of the things we spoke about at half-time and it was wonderful that we scored a goal from that situation, Hendo in the box chipping the ball - a fantastic goal".

"I do follow Man City to see the results. Two or three months ago we would not have done".
