BTS breaks YouTube record for video with most views within 24 hours

The song dropped with the rest of their new album, Map of Your Soul: Persona, on Friday.

BTS now holds the MOST-VIEWED 24-hour DEBUT streaming record on YouTube with 78 million views!

For quite some time now, the world has been waking up the brilliance of K-pop collective BTS.

The record was previously set by South Korean K-Pop group BLACKPINK, whose video for "Kill This Love" reached 56.7 million in one day.

The music video for the band's new song, "Boy With Luv", is now the video with the most views gained within a period of 24 hours on YouTube.

The music video, which features Halsey, has since received over 100 million views on the video platform. Colin Jost also dropped BTS' name to a similar reaction during Weekend Update, with laud screams also accompanying the band's performances.

Apart from shattering records, which also comprises surpassing over 5 billion streams on Spotify, BTS also became the first K-pop to perform at Saturday Night Live in America.

For all the excitement evident in the audience, the loudest cheers reverberated across social media as the BTS ARMY noted all the enthusiasm and welcomed the legion of newly converted SNL-watching fans. "You know, I just had to look at myself and say, 'Hey".
