Record 17.4 million watch 'Game of Thrones' kickoff for final season

Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones. This almost 18-minute video goes to great lengths to show how the final season of the epic, award-winning drama came together, highlighting the talented cast and crew that put in grueling hours to make it all possible. It also was HBO's biggest night ever for streaming, the network said. The rest were viewers who watched two encore presentations, combined with those who streamed the show with the HBO Go or HBO Now apps. While that means the series came in slightly below the 12.07 million viewer audience its season 7 finale's on-air broadcast scored, it's still well above its season 7 premiere's initial 10.1 million viewers.

In fact, it looks as if he's standing "trial" of sorts, fielding questions from Sansa, Dany, and Jon Snow.
