Woman tries to snatch boy, 4, from LA restaurant — McDonald's abduction

She picked up the boy and briskly walked towards the exit but was stopped in the auto park by witnesses who were alerted to the situation.

Investigators on Thursday released video in the search for a woman accused to trying to abduct a 4-year-old boy in South Los Angeles.

Police later arrested the woman, identified as 33-year-old Maralyn Ramos.

Police say the woman went into the restaurant on East Olympic Boulevard at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, picked up the boy and carried him outside.

Surveillance video released by authorities shows a woman picking up a young boy and walking out of the restaurant. They said she subsequently took off on foot.

Detectives are working to determine if the attempted kidnapping is linked to a similar incident at about 11.15am on Wednesday, where a woman tried to snatch another four-year-old boy, also in LA.


"A suspect-described as a black or Hispanic woman with black hair, standing 5'4", weighing 115 lbs, aged 25 to 30, with tattoos and a possible scar or birthmark-allegedly tried to walk off with a 4-year-old boy, but was stopped by a witness.

The second incident occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr.

She then fled the scene on foot, police stated.

Ramos was booked on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted kidnapping. Bail has been set at $100,000.

Boulevard near San Pedro Street and attempted to walk away with him before being stopped by a witness, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
