More details on 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' series emerge

The fact that Bruhl and VanCamp are both involved strongly suggests a post-Cap storyline in which Falcon and Winter Soldier must set aside their differences to do what Steve Rogers can not - remember, he's an old man now.

If you haven't heard her name before, no doubt you've heard of these two actors who are, according to Deadline, "in talks" to come aboard The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Emily VanCamp, who played SHIELD agent Sharon Carter in Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Daniel Bruhl, Civil War's villainous Helmut Zemo.

The director of the mini-series is Canadian filmmaker Kari Skogland, who has previously directed episodes of shows like The Walking Dead, The Handmaid's Tale, and The Punisher. She also served as executive producer and director for the upcoming Showtime limited series The Loudest Voice.

Maybe the biggest news is the fact that Van Camp and Bruhl will reportedly return for the series. The growing love story between her and Steve Rogers played a significant role in her helping the then fugitive Rogers. Zemo successfully framed the Winter Soldier and pit the Avengers against each other before he was exposed.

Disney+, the company's upcoming streaming service, will launch on November 12. For her efforts, she has been nominated for an Emmy Award and won a BAFTA award and will mark yet another female director for Marvel Studios in a move that sees Feige and co actively working to ensure a better gender distribution for directors (both Black Widow and The Eternals are slated to have female directors). Deadline is reporting that Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp are in negotiations to join the six episode miniseries as well.

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" will air in August 2020.

MCU fans are waiting to see what's to come of some of their favorite characters after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Plus, we finally have a release date for this show.
