Madison Bumgarner Angrily Shouts at Max Muncy After Mammoth Home Run

Madison Bumgarner Angrily Shouts at Max Muncy After Mammoth Home Run

The Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching staff has been on a roll as of late, and that continued on Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 shut out of the San Francisco Giants to complete a series victory at Oracle Park.

Muncy hit the ball 426 feet and it landed in McCovey Cove beyond right field.

Muncy watched it go, flipped his bat to the ground and began jogging to first. The veteran lefty yelled at Muncy, telling him to run the bases rather than gawk at his homer. We saw the best of Madison Bumgarner and matched Walker pitch for pitch.

The two exchanged words while Muncy trotted around the bases.

"He just struck a pose and walked further than I liked", Bumgarner said. He was the second batter of Sunday's matinee and the only black mark on the four-hit, seven-inning gem tossed by Madison Bumgarner (L, 3-6, 3.83 ERA).

"I mean, they want to let everybody be themselves, [so] let me be myself". And why did Bumgarner feel the need to shout at Muncy? There's a disagreement, a few words yelled back and forth, a resumption of play - usually without any drama - and then a deadpanned postgame interview.

Buehler baffled the Giants all day, needing just 91 pitches to get through seven scoreless innings. Kenley Jansen came on to pitch the ninth, recording his 19th save.

Giants: 1B Brandon Belt was scratched from the lineup because of a stomach illness. They finished the series 2-for-24 with runners in scoring position. San Francisco got back-to-back singles leading off the sixth but Mike Yastrzemski was run down from behind by catcher Austin Barnes trying to scramble back to third on Pablo Sandoval's grounder to third.

"Do your thing, I'll do mine", Bumgarner added, according to Ryan Gorcey of the San Francisco Examiner.
