Cuba Gooding Jr. arrested on suspicion of forcible touching

Gooding was set to turn himself in to police for the more recent case, but his lawyer said he's reconsidering after video emerged that allegedly shows he did nothing wrong. Though Gooding has denied having groped anyone, his lawyer Mark Heller said Wednesday that the actor would be turning himself in to authorities on Thursday, CBS News reports.

Heller added in a statement that the video proves there was "absolutely no criminality taking place on the part of my client".

The 29-year-old accuser spoke to the NYPD on Monday morning, but her identity has not yet been confirmed, and nor has she spoke to any members of the press.

Heller said that he had not heard back after reaching out to the Sex Crimes Unit of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office about whether their office has seen the video.

"I trust the system, and the process speaks for itself", Cuba stated.

The NYPD told ET that the SVU has a complaint on file regarding the allegation against Gooding, but could not confirm any further details.

Asked about the reported allegation on Monday, NYPD spokesman Detective Martin Brown said, "We don't really have anything official to say about it other than that there's been an allegation and that it is now under investigation".

He may be facing a misdemeanor charge of forcible touching, the New York Daily News reports.

"I have known Cuba for nearly 30 years and his conduct towards women is always respectful", he says.

That same year, he was also accused of pushing a female bartender in New Orleans and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Video posted on social media show Gooding at Magic Hour on Sunday night singing the Journey hit "Faithfully" and posing for pictures with fans.

Gooding, who broke through with the 1991 film "Boyz N The Hood", won an Oscar in 1997 for his supporting role in "Jerry Maguire".
