Man United handed boost in pursuit of £70m Bruno Fernandes

Reports in Italy this week suggested Palermo attacker Aleksandar Trajkovski was the man Sporting wanted to replace Fernandes with this summer.

Paul Pogba could move out of Manchester United this summer and it looks like Man United are planning to make a move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as a replacement - according to reports.

The Portuguese global would be an exciting addition to Solskjaer's squad if he does end up moving to Old Trafford as he contributed a staggering 32 goals and 18 assists in all competitions last season.

His performances have unsurprisingly drawn the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs.

The free-scoring midfielder, who bagged 31 goals last term, has been heavily linked with a move to England. In such a scenario, Bruno Fernandes would be a quality addition.

And Varandas has not been afraid to speak out regarding Sporting's star man in recent weeks.

As for the type of fee Sporting are looking to receive for their key man, Varandas has a rough idea.

He said: "It could be the most expensive sale of Sporting".

"The most expensive so far was João Mário, for €40m (£36m)".

Man Utd are on the verge of signing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle.

And Marcel Keizer has also spoken about Fernandes' future. "He's on vacation, we'll see what happens". "But his style is a little bit different, and not particularly what Man United need."He could use this opportunity now to leave and get a fresh start, play in a different atmosphere, and embrace a new challenge."Sometimes it's hard to come to Manchester United and adapt to play a particular style."It doesn't mean he's not a good player with great quality".

It was revealed that the young midfielder will join Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

The pair moved to United for a combined £65m this summer and will no doubt be hoping they are joined at Old Trafford by Fernandes before the transfer window closes on August 8.
