Mi A3 Teasers Claim Photography Prowess, Leak Tips Detailed Specifications

Online speculations suggest that they might be re-branded versions of the CC9 and CC9e smartphones the company launched in China earlier this month, but with pure Android instead of MIUI.

Just like the Mi A2 series, the next-gen Mi A3 looks set to feature a vertical camera module on the back.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 will ship with stock Android 9 Pie straight out of the box as part of the Android One program but should receive an update to Android 10 Q before the end of this year. The report also claims that while the Mi A3 will sport a triple camera setup, the Mi A3 Lite will, very likely, have a dual-cam module.

There have been various leaks and rumors surrounding the Mi A3 and A3 Lite. Now, a fresh leak has revealed key internal specifications and images of the Mi A3 have been leaked, giving us a good look at the upcoming phone. Earlier this week, Xiaomi Global Spokesperson Donovan Sung also teased the arrival of new Mi A-series phones running Android One.

The Xiaomi Mi A2, launched in mid-2018, is still one of the best Android One phones you can buy. Specifically, the Xiaomi Mi A3 is said to be replacing the Snapdragon 660 used inside last year's model with the more powerful Snapdragon 665 which was announced this past April. There are two phones launched - Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. In terms of design, the Mi A3 will be similar to the Mi CC9 sporting a gradient 3D glass panel and a waterdrop notch. The chip should be paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of non-expandable internal storage.

The tweet does hint that Xiaomi would launch the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite. The phone is tipped to pack a 48-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/1.79 aperture that will be assisted by an 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor. The phone will come in three colour options, but there is no word on its pricing yet.
