See HBO Max, Netflix's newest rival to launch in 2020

The upcoming media-service provider which will launch in spring next year will be loaded with some 10,000 hours of content, including all episodes of 90s, hit "Friends", acting as a competition to Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus. With most of its competition having a single-digit monthly price tag, It's already a tough sell even with all those movies.

Recently, WarnerMedia revealed the name for its upcoming streaming service, HBO Max.

The offer will work under the HBO Max brand and will bring together programming from the core HBO channel and a slate of new originals and programming from Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth and Looney Tunes among others. Another popular show that will be leaving the streaming platform in 2021 is "The Office", which is another bad news for the fans of the show. WarnerMedia is launching a new streaming platform known as HBO Max to compete with other platforms.

"We're sorry to see Friends go to Warner's streaming service at the beginning of 2020 (in The US)", the tweet read. "Thanks for the memories, gang", the Netflix's post read.

Other big gets for the new platform are "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "Pretty Little Liars".

WarnerMedia Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said HBO Max would feature original programming, 'exciting acquisitions, and the very best of the Warner Bros. libraries, starting with the phenomenon that is Friends'.

With "Friends" being available on WarnerMedia's HBO Max streaming service, numerous fans of the show may take the subscription there.

HBO Max will launch in the spring of 2020.

According to insiders, some HBO titles are also going to become Showmax exclusive series like the teen drama series Euphoria that just made its debut with M-Net and DStv subscribers that won't be getting to see some of them.

Original programming on HBO Max will include 2 movies from Witherspoon's production company and 4 from Greg Berlanti, producer of "Riverdale" on the CW.
