The new Mortal Kombat movie will have R-rated Fatalities

The new Mortal Kombat movie will have R-rated Fatalities

This also means for Mortal Kombat fans that it will create the iconic fatalities in the movie. Earlier today, the writer for the new Mortal Kombat movie announced that the upcoming film will be rated R, and we expect the filmmakers will use every inch of that rating. You can't do Mortal Kombat without the frosty ninja, and he'll probably be joined by his old frenemy, Scorpion.

Russo claims that fatalities will be featured in a MK movie for the first time ever so I can assume that it will be as gory as the finishing moves found in the games.

Simon McQuoid is set to direct the new Mortal Kombat film, which will be produced by James Wan (Aquaman, The Conjuring Universe). It had more realistic action, gore, and fatalities. That won't be the case in the new Mortal Kombat movie, with the film's screenwriter Greg Russo confirming that it'll carry an R rating. Perhaps they'll follow the time-hopping shenanigans of Mortal Kombat 11 as a workaround for some extra deaths without needing a larger cast. The film has no release date, but it is going to be released by Warner Brothers Studios.

It's only been a few days since it was revealed that martial artist and actor Joe Taslim would be playing cool-as-a-cucumber ninja Sub-Zero in the adaptation. The film may begin production later this year, and it will hit theaters on March 5, 2021.
