World Cup Champion Allie Long’s Hotel Room Burglarized While She Attended ESPYs

KABC-TV reports the LAPD is reviewing video from the hotel where Long was staying.

Allie Long tweeted on Thursday it happened after the team was honored at the ESPY awards on Wednesday night.

Long and her teammates were honored in NY on Wednesday with a ticker-tape parade and celebration, during which Mayor Bill de Blasio presented each player with a key to the city.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio responded Friday morning via Twitter that they have a spare and have her covered.

The investigation is underway. "I would love a new one".

The U.S. women's national soccer team defeated the Netherlands, 2-0, on Sunday to claim its second consecutive World Cup.

They were awarded an ESPY for best team at the show.

The mayor, who is challenging for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, told Long that he would replace the key on Twitter. She also had a personal plea for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio who had presented her with a key to New York City the same day it was taken. "So sorry to hear it, Allie", he tweeted. Long and her husband, Jose Batista, reportedly left the door to their hotel room cracked for an hour that evening while celebrating with Long's team members, Ramirez said. She posted a photo to Instagram with her husband captioned, "Take my ring but not my mans (or medal Thank God)".

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made as of Thursday night, according to the Times.
