Knicks, Marcus Morris Plan To Sign One-Year, $15M Deal

Knicks, Marcus Morris Plan To Sign One-Year, $15M Deal

"This is no knock on the Spurs".

The soon-to-be 30-year-old Morris signed a four-year, $20 million contract with Phoenix in a unique deal where he and his twin brother Markieff split $52 million however they saw fit.

A New York Post report cites sources as saying the Knicks were wildly impressed with Morris' 2018-19 season with the Boston Celtics, which included averages of 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game to go along with 37.5% shooting from 3-point range.

The San Antonio Spurs have reportedly pulled their offer for forward Marcus Morris.

NY suddenly had more money because they themselves re-worked a deal with Reggie Bullock. "I want guys that have an edge to them, that enjoy defending".

The Spurs managed to sign Lyles after Marcus Morris backed out of his deal with the team in order to sign with the New York Knicks. San Antonio is obviously hoping to see improvement from Lyles.

In the past year there had been tension about the style of play in Houston between Harden and Paul - Harden thrives in isolation, Paul's game has slowed a step and he wanted more picks and more ball movement - so for the Rockets this is a player that fits what Harden wants.

The Knicks are expected to have more cap space than originally anticipated because they're in the process of reworking the two-year, $21 million contract they agreed to with wing Reggie Bullock, whose "fitness to play a full season in 2019-20" is in question, according to an earlier report from ESPN. However, an issue that arose during his physical exam reportedly caused both sides to reconsider, although Bullock may still join NY at a lower figure. He was selected No. 12 overall by the Jazz in the 2015 NBA Draft.
