Nigeria vs Algeria: Rohr hints on changes to Super Eagles starting XI

The duo and Francis Uzoho are the only Super Eagles players yet to play in the tournament despite Rohr's rotation strategy.

Nigeria will now take on Algeria in a semi-final match on Sunday.

Nigeria eliminated holders Cameroon in the last 16 before knocking out South Africa, the conquerors of hosts Egypt, in the quarter-finals in their first Cup of Nations since lifting the title for a third time in 2013.

"Since 2006, Senegal has not reached the semi-finals of the AFCON, which proves that we are working to become the best".

"Algeria have some great individual players like Riyad Mahrez, who can hurt you, but we only have to focus on ourselves and we will be good", he said.

Adam Ounas, however, must have other ideas, he has three goals and one assist in only 121 minutes and the Super Eagles should be wary of the Napoli man. Mahrez is also risky as ever for Algeria having already netted two goals, he and striker Bounedjah would hope to get at Nigeria as much as possible with Islam Slimani also on the bench.

"These are all factors that will contribute to the semifinal which we are going to look forward to on Sunday". They won thanks to a late goal by William Troost-Ekong to get $15,000.

"We have to play together, stick together and keep fighting".

Siasia recalled that the two countries had met on eight several occasions at the AFCON, adding that the record was evenly balanced with three wins each and two draws. "Even the defeat helped us to be more humble and sometimes it is good also". In the return match also, they were fragile ...

"We showed great fighting spirit against Cameroon and South Africa".

Dangote, who holds Nigeria's second highest national honour (GCON) is the President of Dangote Group and is ranked as the richest person of African descent in the world. Nigeria, meanwhile, have sailed relatively smoothly to this stage, with a shock loss to minnows Madagascar in the group stage the only blip on their record.

Rohr believes the same will be deployed against the Foxes on Sunday night.
