Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro to launch on August 20th

Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro to launch on August 20th

As the teasers suggest, the main highlight is going to be the Quad Camera setup that has a primary camera with a large aperture & large pixel size. Also, Flipkart has released a teaser video for the upcoming Realme 5 series smartphones, which showcases the quad rear camera setup along with an LED flash module.

Similarly, the Realme 5 is also expected to be the first smartphone to launch with the RealmeOS.

Finally, there is a "Portrait Lens", and while it may sound like a telephoto camera, it is definitely a depth sensor for getting depth information to take better portrait shots. The company upgraded dual cameras with Realme 2 series, and will now upgrade to four cameras with Realme 5 series.

Realme X features 6.53-inch full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) notch-less AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Last week, Realme held a press conference to show off prototype devices of the quad-camera handset as well as the 64MP camera (allegedly called Realme X Pro) in New Delhi. However, Xiaomi would the first brand to launch a smartphone with this sensor.

They are directly jumping to a quad camera system with Realme 5 series to stay ahead in the curve.

Meanwhile, the ultra-wide lens on the Realme 5 will come with a wide, 119-degree field of view, so you can capture up to 1.5x more of what you see. The Realme 5 has a fingerprint scanner at the back and the quad-camera is vertically aligned. The third one is a super macro lens with a focal length of 4cm. Given the company's past records, the upcoming Realme 5 series will also follow the same suite to keep with the Realme pricing legacy. However, Realme hasn't confirmed these specs or announced the prices of these devices.

It is safe to assume that the Realme 5, being the lower-priced of the two may have one or two features less than the Pro version. But, the price of these smartphones is expected to be under Rs. 20,000.
