Spectacular weekend forecast with sunshine, low humidity

Monday: Partly sunny along with clear skies throughout the day. Dry and comfortable air settles in on Thursday and Friday with more sunshine anticipated.

Saturday night, spotty storms will be possible once again, mainly in north central and northeastern Kansas.

It's going to heat up even more on Sunday, with highs in the mid to upper 90s, feeling more like the 100s when you factor in the humidity. Slight chance for an afternoon shower. Rain could be heavy in some areas with localized amounts in excess of 1 inch possible.

The heat will continue Monday, with highs in the upper 90s, but a cold front will move through the state, from the northwest, Monday night. Despite the morning rain, warm conditions are still expected with highs in the middle to upper 80s. The weather pattern will stay unsettled through then too, keeping off and on storm chances in the forecast. Northwest winds up to 5 miles per hour.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 70 and an east southeast wind of 3 to 5 miles per hour, according to the weather service. Wind: SE 5-10. High: 91.


Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 76, according to the weather service.

Humidity will become more noticeable early in the week, but it won't be bad.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, 30 per cent chance of showers overnight.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon.

Tuesday, Aug. 13 will start out mostly cloudy on a day in which the high temperature will be in the upper 70s.
