Apple’s new, lower priced iPhone draws tepid response in Asia

The updated cameras on all three devices allow for new features like night mode and slow-mo selfies (what Apple calls "slofies"). "While there will certainly be consumers looking to upgrade from iPhone 6 and 7, with XR being continued, we should see further price reduction and volumes coming from XR than 11", said Navkendar Singh, Research Director, IDC India.

The iPhone price discrepancy is not all down to the currency markets. -China trade standoff, said analysts.

The iPhone 11 will have two back cameras, including an ultra-wide-angle lens and the next generation of microchips, the A13.

But there was no bundle with Apple Music or other services at the latest launch as some analysts had expected, although Creative Strategies analyst Ben Bajarin said the TV service, gaming service and the base model iPhone 11 seem created to draw in users for the longer term.

The iPhone 11 models are largely unchanged from previous models.

The Apple iPhone 11 Pro has now been officially announced and our colleague Gareth Beavis over at T3's sister site TechRadar has had some quality hands-on time with the new handset. The move might be aiming to manage and reduce potential risks drawn by the U.S.

Last year, the average Malaysian would had to work 41.3 days to be able to cop the latest flagship iPhone model. On Tuesday, Apple also dropped the price of the XR by $150. Yes, the iPhone 11 Pro is pricier and has more impressive specs.

Following up on the success of the iPhone XR, Apple unveiled the iPhone 11 this morning that sports a new aluminum and glass body and two awesome rear cameras that could make it the most attractive iPhone to most people.

Analysts expect Apple to sell about 200 million iPhones in the next year (in addition to other devices), ensuring tens of millions of potential viewers for the subscription service.

A meme doing the rounds on Chinese social media featured Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook bragging about the new features and Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's consumer business group, shutting him down by pointing out that Huawei has had those features for years.

Aesthetically, this new camera system protrudes out from the back of the case via a large, square bump. It's less expensive than Disney's upcoming streaming offering, Disney+, which will cost $6.99 monthly or $70 a year, and Netflix's basic plan, which costs $8.99 a month.

That means both Apple and Disney will be undercutting the industry leaders. Both are priced at $4.99 per month, and available to up to six of your family members thanks to Family Sharing, which shares purchases like apps, music, and now subscriptions among registered family members. It has also lost ground in South Korea, with market share dropping to 11.2 per cent from 12.5 per cent, according to research firm Strategy Analytics.

In India, a market that Apple has said is key for growth, reaction to the new phones was muted as well. What got the most stage time though was the new shooters on the back. The design - apart from the camera set up - remains more or less same which Apple had with the iPhone XS and XS Max.
