Tony Parker reacts to France snapping USA's global win streak

His Frenchmen just snapped a 58-game win streak in worldwide tournament play by the Americans.

Team USA's hopes of winning a third consecutive FIBA gold medal - and sixth consecutive worldwide gold medal - are now over.

France is moving on to the FIBA World Cup semifinals after knocking off Team USA with an 89-79 victory on Wednesday. With the loss, the USA will fail to get a medal for only the second time in the last 10 editions of the tournament.

However, only two other Americans scored in double figures as Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

France had been 0-9 against the major worldwide play before Wednesday's win. With Gobert guarding the paint, this was a game where the USA needed their scorers to step up and carry them into the semis, yet ultimately only Mitchell was able to assume that responsibility.

While Team USA will play Serbia on Thursday for the right to play in the fifth-place game, France will prepare to face Argentina in the semifinals on Friday.

France spoiled an impressive performance from Donovan Mitchell, Gobert's National Basketball Association teammate, who led Team USA with 29 points.
