'She's played it safe in terms of the design of the pieces - they're timeless and classic, but I would have liked to have seen her include more colour. The duchess, who wore jeans to Wimbledon and is said to have the weekly shop delivered by Ocado rather than Harrods, reminded the audience that nearly exactly a year ago she had launched the Together cookbook with the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen those affected by the Grenfell fire.

Speaking ahead of the event, Meghan said: "Since moving to the United Kingdom, it has been deeply important to me to meet with communities and organizations on the ground doing meaningful work and to try to do whatever I can to help them amplify their impact".

For each merchandise purchased, one can be donated to the charity which Meghan turned the patron of earlier this yr.

She also thanked the four brands involved for "placing objective over profit and community over competition" while taking part in "this special project".

The launch will be Meghan's first official public engagement since welcoming Archie on May 6.

She was present to watch Prince Harry play in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Match in Wokingham, UK, on 10 July, and shortly afterwards at Wimbledon alongside the Duchess of Cambridge on 13 July. The collection goes to help the Smart Works charity, which outfits women for job interviews. "And that shows the kind of person that she is". Our Royal Patron, HRH The Duchess of Sussex, @sussexroyal and Smart Works have collaborated with leading British fashion designers @johnlewisandpartners, @marksandspencer, @insidejigsaw and @mishanonoo to create a ideal working wardrobe for our Smart Works clients. More than anything, she wanted to touch the lives of those in need and, in 1987, she opened the first HIV/AIDS unit in London that cared for patients who suffered from the illness.

It also comes as she appears to be ending her maternity leave with her 4-month-old son Archie and stepping back full-time into royal duties.

The likelihood is that the other featured items - including a trouser suit from Jigsaw, a dress from Marks & Spencer and a white shirt from designer Misha Nonoo - will be just as popular.

Writing within the September discipline of British Vogue, which she guest edited, she disclosed plans for the pill collection in a quick feature describing how she had asked Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw and "my friend, the trend designer Misha Nonoo", within the event that they would again.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a gold cuff bracelet and diamond butterfly earrings - treasured pieces from the late People's Princess's collection.
