Nigeria Targets, Abraham, Tomori Called Up By England

The forward's goal in France came on his 22nd birthday and got the Blues Champions League campaign up and running, and he has now been rewarded for his good early-season form with his first global call-up, Gareth Southgate naming him in his England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.

Tomori is set to make his full worldwide debut after playing 15 times for the Under-21s, while Abraham could turn out for the senior England team for the first time since 2017.

Their Blues team-mates Mason Mount and Ross Barkley have again been included in the squad by boss Gareth Southgate. His athleticism is important, he is capable with the ball.

"That was a bit early for him but because of the opportunity given to him by Frank Lampard at Chelsea, we've brought him back in".

Abraham will be expected to retain a place in Chelsea's line up for their latest domestic clash away at Southampton this Sunday.

As a result the former Gravesend Grammar student is still eligible to play for England, Canada or Nigeria.

Southgate said. "Does it mean leaving out somebody who is scoring freely and playing exceptionally just because they're younger?"

"Tammy is the leading English goalscorer in the league so it doesn't take too much to see why he would be in the frame with us".

"Both of these guys have been in our development teams for a long time, Fik was in our U20s when they won the World Cup and has played very well, so we think it's a good time to have a closer look at him and work with him".
