The hosts had a bright start, going forward with pace and they took the lead in the 15th minute courtesy of Serge Gnabry, who side-footed home from close range after controlling brilliantly a cross from Lukas Klostermann.

Manchester United defender Rojo was caught in possession five yards inside Germany's half and Klostermann surged forward before feeding Gnabry to square the ball for Havertz, who was left with the simple task of sliding in his first worldwide goal.

Low's army were breaking away with a lot of speed in attack, which eventually resulted in the home side doubling their lead in the 22nd minute after Kai Havertz slotted home a sliding shot towards into a gaping net following a cross from Gnabry.

Serge Gnabry continued his red-hot form of late by firing Die Mannschaft ahead after 15 minutes, followed by Kai Havertz's (Bayer Leverkusen) first global goal (assisted by Gnarby) just seven minutes later to make it 2-0 and put Germany in a commanding position.

Argentina showed a vital sign moments later and got their first chance on target through Rodrigo de Paul, whose long-range effort got denied by the left post.

With their first clear-cut opportunity of the second half, Argentina pulled one back out of the blue as Lucas Alario, who was fielded in the 62nd minute, headed home a cross from Marcos Acuna four minutes later.

The Albiceleste next take on Ecuador in a friendly on Sunday when Germany are in competitive action at Estonia in Euro 2020 qualifying Group C.
