Kevin Durant Was Busy On Twitter After Saying Knicks Weren’t ‘Cool’

Durant and Kyrie Irving were linked to the Knicks ahead of free agency, but that didn't pan out for NY.

Durant and Irving passed on the Knicks this offseason to ink four-year deals with Brooklyn. On Tuesday, Brooklyn's new superstar admitted that he did consider the Knicks, but not very heavily.

"I know K", Randle said of Durant. "I didn't really do any full analysis on the Knicks".

When asked why he thought that the Knicks have had trouble landing top-tier free agents despite their lofty legacy, Durant pointed at their recent lack of success as a major factor. Durant said. Reluctant to pick a fifth artist due to the relationships he has in the industry, Durant chose Gunna as his number five. "It's hard to get the best players to play here". What KD did leaving the Warriors -- and I've seen it in every sport -- has never worked and I think it's a large huge roll of the dice. It's hard. I think a lot of fans look at the Knicks as a brand and expect these younger players who, in their lifetime, don't remember the Knicks being good.

The 31-year-old Durant doesn't say any of that to be disrespectful to the Knicks. "We got seven guys that really wanted to be a part of the Knicks and that's what I'm focused on". The Knicks aren't the cool thing for him right now, and that was obvious June 30, but what about the rest of the National Basketball Association?

KD adds that the Knicks' brand is no longer considered "cool".

Whether or not Durant meant any harm by those comments, he caused a reaction from the Knicks and the fans-almost too easily.
