MacOS 10.15 Catalina Now Available for Update

I noticed the problems with Catalyst last night when I booted up the initial shipping version of macOS Catalina last night and headed into the Mac App Store to see what was new. With Sidecar, you can use an iPad display for tablet input to draw, sketch or write with Apple Pencil in any Apple or third-party Mac app that supports stylus input. Yes, you need to pay the monthly subscription fee, but playing the games on your Mac is going to feel pretty swank after hovering over your smaller screen.

One of the better features in macOS Catalina is Voice Control which gives users with accessibility issues a new way to get more done with their MacBooks. It works both on wired and wireless connections.

Named Project Catalyst (previously Marzipan), it allows developers to port iPad apps to MacOS via Apple Xcode.

iTunes has been changed on the Mac by the original apps Apple Music - which will get the extinct iTunes icon - Apple Podcasts and Apple TV. Additionally, there are issues with font in MacOS Catalina, as per the Chromium blog, the macOS system font appears "off" - too light / tight kerning.

So it's time to answer your questions about iTunes' death, the end of the line for 32-bit apps and Sidecar mode, which turns the iPad into a second screen for the Mac.

How often you open the Photos app?

Apple had chose to run a host of paid-services throughout it's "Ecosystem" which users can subscribe to for as low as $5/M even get it for free for the first year if you purchase any new iPhone 11 in 2019.

Apple Arcade is now available on Mac meaning that the whole suite of Apple products is accounted for. Downtime lets you schedule time away from your Mac, and App Limits lets you set limits on time spent with apps.

Developer's have reported that the process for porting their iPad apps to Catalina has been frustrating thus far.

People from across the globe have been reporting issues after they have upgraded to macOS Catalina. The new major release is available with a number of new apps and feature improvements.

Now we get to where we will create a bootable MACOS Catalina USB drive. There'll also be periodic automated checks within the application after its installed. Catalina is finally the download that kills iTunes, which is nowhere to be found in the new update. It is because those apps were using iTunes' underlying XML database and the XML file no longer exists to index a local music collection.

If you own any of the Mac computers mentioned above, you can install macOS Catalina 10.15 right now by opening the App Store app and then searching for macOS Catalina.
