Chevrolet could end Manchester United sponsorship deal amid on-pitch struggles

Manchester United's underwhelming performances on the pitch has put their current manager Ole Gunaar Solskjaer under a lot of pressure and the club's chiefs are considering sacking the Norwegian and replace him with Julian Nagelsmann.

His early introduction to coaching came following a career-ending injury eight years previous, and saw him take his first club from a relegation battle to the Champions League as he secured back-to-back top four Bundesliga finishes.

Sources have told ESPN FC that a number of major brands have expressed an interest in becoming United's principal shirt sponsor and the club are confident of negotiating a deal that would exceed GM's £450m seven-year agreement despite a poor start to the season. "We are at base camp now".

Rose has been on the transfer list, but had no takers in the summer transfer window, but the Red Devils could swoop in to sign the England global.

United definitely have more than enough resources to fund their needs for additional reinforcements, but the club's strategy into using the talents they managed is being questioned.

"It doesn't matter how good you are, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo could go there and they would have difficulty because the team is not producing as a team".

However, the Red Devils have employed this approach before to no avail.

After all, the Manchester United board have previously backed Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho even close to their last days only to stab them in their backs.

It's clear the United have had a dismal season and the blame has been heavily thrown at OGS.

It's easy to play the blame-game, but it would be unfair to overlook Solskjaer's efforts.

Over the summer, United sold Romelu Lukaku and failed to sign a replacement, leaving Rashford, Martial and 18-year-old Mason Greenwood as the club's only recognised forwards until January at least. And of course the following they have all over the world.
