WhatsApp Disappears from Google Play Store

However, if you have previously installed the WhatsApp but installed it later for some reason, you can see the app in the "Previously installed app" section in the Google Play Store. However, the app is still available through "My app & games", but while searching for Whatsapp on google play store, it doesn't show the app in the search results.

WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to set a time limit on their message before it disappears.

San Francisco: Facebook-owned WhatsApp on Saturday confirmed that the app was now back on the Google App store after its sudden disappearance. And those who were looking to join WhatsApp for the first time weren't able to.

While WhatsApp disappeared from Play Store, WhatsApp for Business app was still available. Interestingly enough, users who are now using WhatsApp are facing an exact similar issue - on searching the Play Store, the only app they are seeing is WhatsApp for Business. As TNW noted, for some unknown reason, WhatsApp vanished from the Play Store this morning.

Recently, a security bug has been found in Facebook-owned instant messenger. According to Awakened's post on GitHub, the flaw resided in WhatsApp's Gallery view implementation that is used to generate previews for photographs, videos and GIFs. WhatsApp and Google are yet to issue an official comment regarding this.
