Deadpool writers share update on character's big-screen Marvel future

Deadpool fans had been anxious that the foul-mouthed hero would be restrained by Disney and it would be the end of the Rated R comic book films but CEO Bob Iger has insisted that the "merc with a mouth" will stay the same and be adult-orientated and Reese has assured cinema goers that this is still their plan. None of the Phase 4 titles include any hint of a Deadpool presence, and we do have quite a few MCU adventures planned for the next phase.

While nothing is known about when or where mutants will pop up in the MCU, Ryan Reynolds, the man behind the Deadpool mask, posted a picture today on Instagram that teased a potential meeting with Marvel Studios. This meant Ryan Reynolds' "Merc With A Mouth' character in Deadpool might be in trouble due to its non-family-friendly vibe". He captioned it as, "Auditioned for the role of "Anthony Stark". Thus, have no fear Deadpool fans, hope remains. Well, the writers of the first two Deadpool films have opened up to Entertainment Weekly about that, and they have good news. Meanwhile, Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had recently revealed that both Reynolds and Marvel want to keep the R-Rated tag even if the character features in a Disney film. He goes on to say that the movie would live in a R rated universe, to be allowed to play in the MCU sandbox and incorporate into it.

"We've got several projects with him in addition to the Deadpool universe". As a whole he was emphasizing more on landing into the right idea, which they could carry ahead for the upliftment of the movies. I think once we collectively agree on what idea that great idea is we'll be off to the races, said Paul. I think the party line and truth is we're all still figuring it out.

The feet reference is a joke that comic fans will get, as it's related to Liefeld's way of drawing feet in his works. His caption (see below) might've been cheeky and laugh-out-loud amusing - as is par for the course for the actor - but it's clear that something's brewing regarding Deadpool and his imminent introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After such a positive response, Deadpool 3's release is much apparent.
