Despite loss, Eagles have hope in NFC East

They've got a good running game, probably one of the best in the league.

After Kirk Cousins torched Philadelphia's depleted secondary and the Minnesota Vikings rolled to a 38-20 victory Sunday, the New York Jets knocked off the Dallas Cowboys.

Based off the incredible progress from his first two seasons with the team that consisted of back-to-back NFC West titles along with the Super Bowl 53 appearance, it's clear that Los Angeles hit the jackpot with McVay back in 2017. "But at the same time, hey, you make the bed you sleep in", Brown said. One more - against the Seahawks, Dalton passed for a career-high 418 yards. The former Heisman Trophy victor and number one overall pick has failed to live up to his billing, and entering the final year of his rookie contract, it was time for Winston to put up or shut up this season.

For Cousins, it was a statement game - a much-needed response to being called out by members of the Eagles defense leading up to Sunday.

While he was effective on the deep shots, Cousins was even more surgical in the red zone with different types of throws to Adam Thielen on a 6-yard touchdown pass and a dart to Diggs from 11 yards for his fourth scoring pass of the day. After the game, Diggs gave credit to Cousins for his performance. I watched the movie and the reality is that there were opportunities for [Thielen]. "Zach was a teammate in Washington". "I have to do a better job of snap and clearing and playing better".

"I see the preparation, I see what he's trying to do", Arians said.

His level of play is believed to be the primary factor behind the move, though his recent comments didn't help his cause. A spokesman for the team did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

That defense could improve with defensive tackle Jarrad Reed's return this week from a six-game suspension. He was ranked 60th out of 88 linebackers by the game charters at Pro Football Focus, according to Bleeding Green Nation.

It wasn't the first time Cousins had been called out for his play this year. ESPN reported Monday that "multiple teams" are "expected to be interested" in Brown.
