Chiefs suffer second loss of the season to the Texans

The biggest question mark for this game is the Chiefs' suddenly-mangled defense. He missed only one game last season following wrist surgery.

The Chiefs fell 4-2 on the season, while Houston improved to 4-2.

When it comes to stopping the run, lousy is putting it mildly. "We knew they weren't as physical, so we knew we could run the ball on them well".

That drive consumed 8 minutes, 32 seconds off the clock, marking the second straight week that the Chiefs allowed a double digit-play drive in the fourth quarter of a close game. "We kept pushing, and that's the greatest part of this locker room".

No matter how good that offense might be.

In beating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 on Sunday, the Houston Texans rushed the ball 41 times for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

Carlos Hyde ran for 116 yards and a touchdown against the team who almost cut him, and ended up trading him. His career yards per rush attempt is 5.9, which speaks volumes to just how effective he can be when scrambling or working on designed runs.

"To be the king, you've got to beat the king, and Mahomes is the reigning MVP. That's why we're here and that's why we're professionals", linebacker Darron Lee said. He'd obviously give the Chiefs a much-needed energy boost and if he doesn't play it'll make things exceptionally hard. "We're just trying to make sure it's right".

Along with Hitchens, the Chiefs' defensive front is missing tackles Xavier Williams and Chris Jones. But a pass to LeSean McCoy was stopped for a loss, putting them in a second-and-14 and at their own 21-yard line.

"We have to fix it".

"I think we've got to go back and look at the technique", O'Brien said. He has played really good football for us.

Tyreek Hill is finally back in action after missing most of his team's first five games with a sternum injury, and he made his impact felt immediately.

Just about everything else. Without their best player on defense in Chris Jones, however, I don't see how they slow down the Texans' offense.

The Chiefs, however, will be without receiver Sammy Watkins because of a hamstring injury. They did force a trio of turnovers, including a pair of interceptions in the end zone, but it didn't do.

The 4th and 1 Chiefs podcast took to the studio Sunday night to evaluate how the Chiefs can get back on the wagon before heading west to Denver to play the Broncos on Thursday night.

"They work hard in practice, they pay attention in meetings".
