Kristen Bell will be back to narrate the new Gossip Girl show

The Gossip Girl reboot has a familiar face set to return: Kristen Bell!

"Bell Media has been an important partner with its channels and platforms bringing HBO originals to viewers in Canada for many years", said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment in a statement.

Like the original series, the new iteration of Gossip Girl, written by Safran, is based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar.

The new show also hails from original series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

The reboot will be set eight years after the original series and will focus on a new group of Upper East Siders. He also noted that "social media" will be a big part of the series and it will depict how various social media platforms have changed the whole world.

As Bell explained, the voice of the narrator is really "the catty version" of her own voice, to compliment the nature of the show, and she can't wait to get back into it.

Executive producer Josh Schwartz recently described the spin-off as more of a "continuation" than a reboot.

"We've reached out to all of them to let them know it was happening, and we would love for them to be involved if they want to be involved".

Bell's "Gossip Girl" deal came as the actress wrapped up the final season of her hit series "The Good Place".

"The show went off the air in 2012, and a couple of years later there was talk of revisiting it as a low-budget feature at New Line. But obviously, it would be great to see them again", he added.

If you are not living under the rock, then you must be aware that popular teen drama Gossip Girl is getting a reboot version. Safran described the show as a new look at this particular society in NY.
