Starbucks’ holiday cups will be back this week

Starbucks’ holiday cups will be back this week

Starting Thursday, while supplies last, Starbucks will give away reusable red "Merry Coffee" cups to those who buy a holiday drink.

As we fully move into November, Starbucks is bringing back its holiday-themed drinks and cups for the season.

Those holiday drinks include the peppermint mocha - available year-round, but not with those trademark chocolate shavings - and the toasted white chocolate, caramel brulee latte, chestnut praline latte and eggnog latte.

People on social media posted about their early morning coffee run.

Jen Quotson, VP of Starbucks Creative, said "We came up with this idea of wrapping the stores in holiday joy and wrapping the cups like a gift to our partners and customers". Starbucks says holiday cup sleeves along with their regular cup at these airport locations are also eligible for priority boarding. Or, like, drinking this coffee will make you warm inside like the holiday season? The airline has served Starbucks products onboard since 2012. It's fun, festive and uniquely Starbucks. Each cup design has a unifying green stripe on the back, finishing the cup like a ribbon. The chain is also offering a limited-edition, reusable red cup, decked out in the words "Merry" and "Coffee".

In 2015, Starbucks was accused of a "war on Christmas" when they unveiled plain red holiday cups that did not explicitly say anything about the holiday.

Starbucks previously faced backlash from Christmas traditionalists when it issued plain red cups in 2015 and the "Symbol of Unity" cup in 2016, just a week before the presidential election. But up close, its tiny type offers a happy sentiment.
