Jeopardy contestant's answer almost had Alex Trebek in tears

Trebek is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but has continued filming new episodes of Jeopardy despite several rounds of chemotherapy. Sending all the love.

He teamed up with the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition to make a video last month encouraging people to wear purple in November and help spread the word about the disease and its symptoms on social media.

Trebek announced in March that he plans on beating the cancer, but in recent weeks, said that the cancer has taken a toll on him, and he is unsure how much longer he can continue to host Jeopardy. However, the day when he has to step away from the show may not be so far into the future. Trebek has made a decision to continue hosting the show, however, returning in August after starting chemotherapy.


"I will keep doing it as long as my skills do not diminish, and they have started to diminish", he told Canada's CTV News.

"I was inspired to give by Alex Trebek, the host of Jeopardy! and someone who I have looked up to my whole life", he said.

"When Final Jeopardy came up, I could've tried to puzzle it together, but really, just kept thinking about Alex, and thought he should know". So, hey, I've lived a good life, a full life, and I'm nearing the end of that life. "I'm 79 years old. And why should I be afraid of it?"
