Apple Considering Puting AirPods in The Box With 2020 iPhones

The idea that Apple would consider bundling its future iPhone with a pair of AirPods can be interpreted as an extremely generous, if not extravagant move.

So far, Apple AirPods has been the most popular truly wireless earbuds in the market so now, if this turns out to be true, the bundled AirPods will increase the overall value of iPhone devices significantly.

And now there's a brand new model in the shape of the AirPods Pro, which features active noise cancelling and customised silicone tips for a snug fit.

Apple has included basic, wired EarPods with a Lightning connector in the box with iPhones for several years. Meanwhile, demand for Apple's AirPods skyrocketed, and while more cynical onlookers blamed that on the demise of the 3.5mm headphone port encouraging people to go wireless, it seems more likely that the AirPods were just that attractive of a solution by themselves.

As per report, other known smartphone makers including Samsung and Xiaomi are looking to bundle their new models with TWS earbuds next year. This would have Apple at least pondering what it might want to do in response, if anything. "TWS" or "truly wireless stereo" earphones include the likes of AirPods and Samsung's Galaxy Buds. However, it is hard for Apple to imagine that it would provide such expensive accessories while keeping the iPhone price unchanged.

Kuo's research is aimed at investors who buy shares in the companies that supply Apple with parts, and he is well-known for predicting Apple products before they launch. If the plans were to go-ahead, AirPods would likely only be bundled with the premium iPhone 12 Pro line, offering the higher paying iPhone customers more bang for their buck whereas the low-priced iPhone 12 (replacing the iPhone 11) would likely continue to come packaged with the regular EarPods.
