Tiger Woods and the arduous task of playing consecutive weeks

Tiger Woods and the arduous task of playing consecutive weeks

Ahead of the Hero World Challenge beginning here on Wednesday, Woods recollected the fond memories from Augusta.

'We spoke about the conversations what we had over each shot; some of our friends and family who were there were like "Oh my God, you guys really talked about that?' 'We were running through all the scenarios, Joe looking at the boards, I am looking at the boards".

"We were trying to figure out what was going on; who birdied what, who was making a move".

Woods came from two shots behind heading into the final round to win by a shot from Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele after Francesco Molinari came a cropper in Amen Corner.

A few days later, he had surgery on his left knee to remove cartilage and began the process of putting his body and game back together, culminating with that surprising win in Japan at the Zozo Championship.

Australian Adam Scott knows fans at the Presidents Cup will be excited to see Tiger Woods play, but he has urged them not cheer for the golf superstar - or anyone else on the United States team. To stand here as the Masters champion - no one could have predicted that in 2016. When it comes right down to it, I don't care if I like the person I'm paired with or if the person likes me, as long as it works and sets up the team for success. Who knows if I can come from behind [again]?

Woods was joined by Jordan Spieth, Gary Woodland, Henrik Stenson, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau as each took their best cracks from a makeshift tee box at a makeshift green 130 yards away. "I had
never done it; 14-1 is not a bad record, but I had never done it this way".

Reed also has an overall impressive record and a history of being a tough competitor in match play, despite what happened in France.

"That was an incredible experience for me and now to have been part of it for so long in different ways". I finally know that I can do that now. The winner's club is pretty exclusive - you have to earn your way into it.

Ancer, last month, said he wanted to be opposed to Woods in singles, which provoked a relentless reaction on social networks. "I think we all get a bit more reflective as we age".

The last time Woods played consecutive weeks didn't go so well.

"My window is much smaller than it was so well understood and acknowledged that it is not bad".

When asked if he wanted to play Woods, Scott said, "Of course, I'd love to play Tiger and stick it to him". They went 2-0-1 in their first Ryder Cup in 2014 and were 2-1-1 in a US victory in 2016.
