Georgia for SEC title game

Georgia for SEC title game

He will be probably be suspended the first half or maybe more of the SEC title game on December 6.

Georgia wide receiver George Pickens won't be able to play until the third quarter of next week's SEC Championship Game against No. 2 LSU. Pickens and Swilling threw multiple punches at one another, and Pickens pulled Swilling's jersey and rammed his head into a wall.

That punishment consists not only of Saturday's ejection, but a suspension for the first half of the SEC Championship Game. The Yellow Jackets trailed 17-0 after one quarter but cut the deficit to 17-7 less than five minutes into the second period when senior tight end Tyler Davis caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from James Graham. He also did not play to start the game, likely due to some team discipline. Lawrence Cager was the Bulldogs' leading receiver entering the game but suffered an ankle injury in practice on Wednesday.

Luckily for Georgia, it appears Swift's injury will not extend past Saturday's game against the Yellow Jackets.

"This was the next step", coach Kirby Smart said. Everything Collins says follows a specific agenda, and that has been on display during his first almost-full year with this program. Why would I give up an opportunity over what we have next week?

"Unfortunately, [Pickens] got an undisciplined penalty and when you make undisciplined decisions, regardless of what's done first, you pay a penalty for that", Smart said.

Star running back D'Andre Swift fumbled twice, the second of which left him crumpled on the turf holding his left shoulder.

Smart called Pickens' actions both "selfish" and "undisciplined". "We've got to try to help George". "I don't think we'll miss anything". He underwent surgery Friday.

Swift's injury is another concern going into next weekend's game, though Smart said it was merely a contusion that shouldn't prevent his No. 1 back from playing.

Asked about the Bulldogs' possible plan against LSU if Swift is limited or can't play, Herrien said "just run the ball".

"I wish it didn't come to an end like this and if I could go back in time to the beginning and do it again, there isn't another school I would rather choose", Cager wrote on his Instagram account.
