Jay-Z Puts Entire Catalog Back on Spotify for 50th Birthday

As the clock struck midnight on the east coast of the US, Spotify announced that Jay's massive discography was back on the massive music streaming service.

It's unclear what this news means for the future of Tidal which already faces tough competition from both Spotify and Apple Music.

Jay-Z turns 50 years old on December 4 and there's cause to celebrate over on Spotify.

"Happy birthday, Hov", tweeted the streaming service.

It really is a happy birthday for Jay Z fans the world over. Jay-Z was born in 1969. With Spotify, the only album that listeners could previously check out was his 2014 album with Linkin Park titled "Collision Course". Hard Knock Life, Spotify now holds other memorable LP's like American Gangster, The Black Album, Kingdom Come and all of The Blueprint albums. The hip-hop legend and owner of streaming platform TIDAL has restored his entire music catalogue to Spotify.

There's no word on how long Hov's catalog will be available on Spotify so stream his classics while you can. It's been two years, but now fans can fully enjoy all of the record producer's greatest hits.

Jay-Z performs onstage during the Meadows Music And Arts Festival on September 15, 2017 in New York City.
