Asian Champions Qatar will face Neymar of Brazil in next year's Copa America after being drawn in Group B of the tournament on Tuesday.

All dates are local times, and venues are not yet confirmed, with the Argentina clash possibly being held in River Plate's El Monumental stadium instead of Boca Juniors' La Bombonera as originally planned.

Qatar played in this year's Copa America along with Japan, drawing its opening group match but failing to get past the group stage.

The quadrennial event will run through July 12 with the final in Barranquilla, Colombia. It will be co-hosted by Colombia and Argentina.

Uruguay are the most successful nation when it comes to Copa America having won it 15 times, one more than next best Argentina.

So Argentina is placed in Group A alongside & (as invitee).

The first match is set for June 12, when co-hosts Argentina will face Chile. Eight teams, or the top four from each group, make it through to the quarterfinals.

Qatar, meanwhile, who finished bottom of their group at this year's Copa America to exit in the first round, will open their tournament against Peru on June 14.

Scaloni hopes 32-year-old Messi, who will again be aiming to win his first senior global trophy, plays beyond the 2020 Copa.
