Kid Rock Won't Renew Detroit Restaurant License After Protest

Kid Rock Won't Renew Detroit Restaurant License After Protest

As it was noted above, last week, Kid Rock took to the stage at his Honky Tonk bar in Nashville, and said aloud with a beer can in his hand, "f*ck Oprah!"

That was the message from civil rights activists who gathered across the street from Kid Rock's Made in Detroit restaurant at noon Wednesday, a few hours after Ilitch Holdings, which owns Detroit's Little Caesars Arena, announced it was not renewing its lease with the alt-right rocker.

Kid Rock is bidding adieu to his restaurant Made In Detroit and his hometown.

Kid Rock announced on Facebook that he confirming that he "will not be renewing my licensing agreement for my Made In Detroit Restaurant this April".

The announcement comes days after the emergence of a video in which Kid Rock, onstage at his Nashville stage and apparently drunk, directed a graphic rant toward Oprah Winfrey. We are in the business of awesome and inspiring our fans and guests through an incredible array of world-class sporting and live entertainment events. Without explanation or provocation, he suddenly pivoted and went off on a vile tirade against the OWN Network owner as well as the likes of "The View" co-host Joy Behar and Kathy Lee Gifford.

The Ilitch statement says its "venues are open, inviting, inclusive and respectful to all".

"When you normalize Kid Rock, you normalize hate". The arena opened with six performances by Kid Rock and each one was a sell-out.

"I said fuck that and her. End of story".

Although neither party tied the parting to the video or the ensuing backlash, the singer wrote Wednesday on Facebook that he still has "much love for the city of Detroit and the people/organizations that I have helped there for years, black, white, whatever, but" that he "learned long ago, go where you're celebrated, not tolerated".

Kid Rock suggested he loved the city of Detroit and felt it was his home, however, he felt a lack of appreciation for the millions of dollars he "pumped into" it over the years.

Organizers have planned a protest outside of Kid Rock's restaurant on Woodward Ave Wednesday afternoon in response to his profanity-laced comments against Winfrey. I will let the NAN network and others go ahead and take the wheel now.

"I may be guilty of being a loud-mouth jerk at times, but trying to label me a racist is a joke, and actually only does a disservice to the black community, which I have supported my entire life", he said according to TMZ.
