'I'm happy here' - Gerrard confirms he's set to sign new Rangers deal

Sportsmail reported last week that Gerrard was in discussions over a new contract with the Ibrox club that would run until 2024 - which would add two years onto his current terms that he signed in 2018.

"I don't think you can ever criticise a footballer or a team for being visibly upset", said the Rangers manager.

Rangers has approached both UEFA and FARE seeking explanations for the extremely offensive Tweet which appeared on FARE's Twitter feed and it is vital all supporters showcase the Club in a positive light.

Tonight they take on Young Boys at Ibrox in a must-win game. "If you're happy then why not, that's my motto".

ONCE again the spotlight will fall on Rangers and our supporters as Steven Gerrard's players attempt to secure a place in the knock-out stages of the Europa League. He's been a massive player for us and he's bailed us out when we've needed help.

Gerrard also confirmed that Rangers are closing in on extended stays for Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe, who is on loan from Bournemouth.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: "A draw will be enough to see Rangers qualify but Steven Gerrard's Rangers will top the group with a win, and I expect them to bounce back from their Hampden Park loss to Celtic on Sunday".

"Jermain's is a bit different because he's a Bournemouth player until the end of the season but it's a similar situation in the fact that we want him to stay around".

However, Gerrard remains committed to guiding the club back to their previous heights after they were relegated to the Third Division for the 2012-13 season.

"They are very close and will probably be announced after tomorrow's game".

"We are fully behind him but I don't think he needs that". We are ready to go.
