Disturbing video shows footballer body slam police officer during arrest

Raw video: Dash cam footage appears to show an Eastern Kentucky football player getting into an altercation with OH police officers during a traffic stop.

Michael Harris, a linebacker at Eastern Kentucky University, is facing a felony charge of assault as well as three other misdemeanor charges, stemming from his chaotic altercation with police in OH earlier this week.

That's when things took a turn and police say Harris was caught on surveillance video wrestling with an officer then picking him up and throwing him to the ground.

Michael Harris, a linebacker for Eastern Kentucky University, is seen on the video in a parking lot near what appears to be his SUV. From there, several officers subdue the player and place him under arrest.

Bodycam footage shows the two Grove City officers talking with Harris outside of his vehicle.

Michael Harris picked up the officer before slamming him.

Harris now faces a felony assault charge as well as charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

WBNS-TV reports police believe Harris was intoxicated and didn't know his whereabouts.

The police officers were not injured in the altercation.

Eastern Kentucky has not commented on the arrest.

He had just transferred to Eastern Kentucky this week, with head coach Walt Wells saying, "He brings size, explosiveness and speed to the inside linebacker position".
