Nagelsmann is well aware Werner could leave

However, Liverpool aren't ready to meet his for £54 million asking price this summer and might be willing to wait till next summer when his release clause would have dropped to £36 million.

Mundo try to explain it by saying Werner "knows what he wants", presumably Liverpool or Chelsea, and so does Cancelo.

Reports earlier this week suggested Liverpool were not interested in signing Werner anymore, with Leipzig refusing to budge on the striker's release clause.

"I've always been told from Liverpool that they don't expect to do big deals, not in [the next] transfer window", Balague said on his YouTube channel. If he doesn't feel that way, there's no point in telling him to stay every day.

"He can play out wide, they've got wide players, he can play through the middle, he works hard, he presses when he's not got the ball, it absolutely makes sense for him".

"In the end, it is his life, his career, he can decide that". Werner's current contract runs out in 2023.

Hislop admits that would be the case but believes Werner would eventually be a regular for Liverpool as their famous front three are several years older than the 24-year-old.

The Germany global has scored 31 goals in all competitions for Leipzig this season and his departure would be a huge blow to the club.

Dembele is expected to push for a move to the Premier League at the end of the season and could yet force his way back up Chelsea's list of targets if Lyon's valuation, which had stood at over £50m, decreases.
