Palestinians Decry Israeli Normalization Deals with UAE and Bahrain

On Friday 11 September 2020 it was announced in a joint statement released by the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United States and Israel, that the Kingdom of Bahrain would enter into an agreement with Israel to establish full diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"The American administration is exploiting the normalization agreements between Israel and the Arab countries to win extremists' votes at the expense of the Palestinian cause", al-Maliki noted.

"Bahraini regime's compromise w/ #Israel is a great betrayal to the Islamic cause & Palestinians".

"Iran has chosen to behave in a dominating way in several forms and has become a constant danger that harms our internal security", Khalifa said, adding that it was wise to forestall dangers. The landmark deal was brokered by the US.

"We are a state that is determined to develop our national capabilities, and our old and modern strategy is based on strong allies to confront potential threats", he said.

The Bahraini decision, which was announced by US President Donald Trump on Friday was made despite repeated assurances that Manama will not extend diplomatic ties with Israel until Palestinians obtain their rights in accordance with global law.

Both ceremonies will be held at the White House on Tuesday.

Israel, the UAE, Bahrain share Iran as a common foe and maintain close ties to Washington.

The kingdom relied on a Saudi intervention to crush dissent in 2011 during the Arab Spring.

He made the remarks on Monday, noting that Muslim countries voiced their opposition to the normalization of relations between two Arab countries and the Zionist Regime which was planned by the U.S. government.
