Apple Watch Series 6 launched alongside the cheaper $279 Watch SE

The company announced the launch of a Watch SE, Watch Series 6, iPad Air, 8th generation iPad and some new services.

Regarding the Apple Watch Series 6, rumours point to the addition of new health features rather than a design overhaul. At certain points, the trainers will prompt you to do stuff like check your heart rate or mind the countdown timer.

Another added bonus of the new Air is that you can now use the latest Apple Pencil to scribble on the screen. After all, those in the market for a $1,250-plus Apple Watch designed in collaboration with Hermes - or a $540 standalone strap - are perhaps more likely to be familiar with the correct terminology. You can check back after 15th September. Do note that Apple is implementing shipping the watch without a USB power adapter as part of efforts to reduce waste.

Apple has unveiled a host of new and updated products, including a revamped range of iPads, Apple Watches and a workout platform.

Gurman says don't expect a "ton new" features for the Apple Watch Series 6, besides a faster processor and blood oxygen monitoring. The Watch SE is a successor to the three-year-old Apple Watch Series 3 and it starts at $279; cellular models start at $329. That model goes up for pre-order today and should be available starting Friday, September 18, 2020. The cellular models are also capable of making emergency calls, even internationally, with the Emergency SOS feature. Your Apple Watch will then begin automatically tracking your workout from calories to time spent and more, and displays the data on the device you're watching your workout on. It's also compatible with all Apple Watch bands, including the new silicone "Solo Loop" and yarn "Braided Solo Loop" that Apple announced during the event. And you'll be able to share watch faces with others, using Apple's new Face Sharing feature. watchOS 7 comes with seven new watch-face options.

You'll also get stereo speakers which will make content sound as good as it looks on that stunning edge-to-edge screen.

Gurman also believes a new lower-end Apple Watch, the "Apple Watch SE" will debut today, which will be available in the same 40mm and 44mm sizes, resembling the Series 5 model in both design and internal specifications.
