Biden wins ratings race in dueling town halls

Said Trump: "I shouldn't joke because you know what?"

Biden's 90-minute session on ABC was watched by 13.9 million viewers, while Trump's hour-long event, which aired on NBC, as well as MSNBC and CNBC, brought in 13.1 million viewers across the networks combined.

In their dueling town halls, the Democratic presidential candidate reached more viewers on ABC than Trump did for NBC News Thursday night. "I am going to say I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics?"

"He's living in a dream world", Mr Biden said of Mr Trump's rosy predictions of the pandemic.

National polls released this week by NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist and NBC News/Wall Street Journal show Biden leading Republican President Donald Trump by 11 percent.

If we were to move our town hall with President Trump to a later timeslot we would be violating our commitment to offer both campaigns access to the same audience and the same forum.

"Mishandling the pandemic isn't enough for Trump", Mr Biden charged.

Dillon predicted that the Biden campaign will raise another $234 million through the election, adding to a war chest that is already larger than Trump's.

And as he again denounced the White House's handling of the virus, declaring Mr Trump's administration was at fault for closing a pandemic response office established by the Obama administration in which he served.

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh tweeted that the Trump effort had $251.4 million on hand at the end of September, compared with $432 million for Biden.

"It's an organized crime family, as far as I'm concerned", the president said at an event aimed at seniors in Fort Myers, Florida.
