Star Trek: Discovery: Season Four Renewal for CBS All Access Series

Star Trek: Discovery: Season Four Renewal for CBS All Access Series

In addition to Martin-Green and Jones, the series stars Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, and Wilson Cruz.

The current season of Star Trek: Discovery has just premiered but it looks like CBS All Access already has some good news for fans: The show has just been renewed for Season 4 and production will start very, very soon.

Star Trek: Discovery's third season just premiered on October 15, with the next season set to enter into production on November 2. There are additional animated and live-action series in development as well, including Prodigy, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Section 31. But because the world is still facing a pandemic, it will be under different circumstances than usual.

Although everyone is looking forward to working together again, Martin-Green also reminded Trekkies that they should still watch Star Trek: Discovery Season 3. "I don't know how it's all gonna work, but I can't wait".

Lately while talking on THR's TV Top podcast, Alex Kurtzman clarified they have a strategy for the subsequent seven decades of the Star Trek franchise. Jones echoed her sentiments, claiming that he is more than ready to be reunited with "the Trek Family, the Discovery Family". New shows are reportedly planned all the way through 2027. The streamer has invested heavily in the franchise with three shows now active (Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Lower Decks), and more on the way including the Captain Pike spin-off series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Think about that it requires a year from beginning of production into airing, and that means you've got to plan way ahead to find those things done and you need to remain on the top of their zeitgeist and be certain what you do is applicable.
