NCB raids comedian Bharti Singh’s house in drug case

Investigating officer Sameer Wankhede told ANI, "She (Bharti) and her husband have been detained for questioning about possession of narcotics substances".

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), on November 20, has allegedly raided comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa's flat in Mumbai.

On Saturday afternoon, Bharti and Haarsh arrived at the NCB office in the afternoon. After the raid, the couple were summoned by the agency for questioning.

The ongoing NCB action is the outcome of the probe into the celebrity drugs angle that has emerged prominently after the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, 2020. Singh is also popularly known for her performances as Lalli and Bua in a comedy show hosted by Kapil Sharma. She has hosted several shows and is seen now on Kapil Sharma's comedy show "The Kapil Sharma Show".

"Singh's name had cropped up during the interrogation of a drug peddler", he said. According to media reports, the agency investigating the drugs case had conducted a raid at Bharti and Haarsh's residence in Mumbai today along with their production house office. They included actresses Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, model-cum-actor Arjun Rampal, and filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala, whose wife Shabana was arrested and got bail after some quantities of "commercial quantity" drugs were found at her residence.
