State reports five COVID-related deaths in Collin County today, Friday


Friday's data shows a total of 154 with approximately 20 of those new cases announced in Friday's numbers.

The Shelby County Health Department announced today twenty-five county residents have tested positive for Covid-19.

The region, which comprises Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine, has the highest count of reported COVID-19 cases in Europe. That coupled with the 80 new cases and 113 negative tests bring s the pandemic totals to 4,317 cases, 2,036 of which remain active, 2,252 recoveries, and 22,265 negative tests. Some hospitals in country are experiencing serious shortages of drugs used to treat COVID-19 and can not restock because of panic buying, high demand and problems with a new labelling system.

192 patients are now hospitalized for COVID-19 in the Northeast Region of Hospitals, which is up by 4, however, the percentage of ICU beds in use did go down 1% to 85%.


Health officials also reported nine more deaths, bringing that total to 1,184.

Tarrant County reported 1,368 new cases on Saturday, along with two new deaths.

As of 12:00 AM June 1, 2020, the Department of State Health Services will perform all COVID-19 case investigation and contact tracing activities for Collin County's local health authority.
