The singer, 38, filed for divorce from her husband of seven years Brandon Blackstock in June earlier this year. The two have been married for roughly seven years already and share two children, River, 6, and Remington, 4. For one, she can provide the much-needed stability in the the lives of the children.

The documents, which outline a temporary child custody and visitation arrangement, cited Blackstock living in Montana while the kids live in Los Angeles as a primary reason for the decision, as well as the parents' relationship.

Moreover, the two parents can simply no longer get along.

"All Orders herein are pendente lite (temporary) Orders and shall be in effect until further Order of the Court or any written Stipulation, as agreed to by the parties, is submitted to the Court", the document concluded. Co-parenting in such circumstances is not possible. "The parties have a hard time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them".

Although her marriage to Blackstock meant she would become a step-parent to his two kids, Savannah and Seth, the couple got to work quickly on adding to their family. The "Breakaway" singer revealed her two children entered therapy following the split.

'You want to make sure you're surrounded by people that also want to be the best versions of themselves and also want a good common goal for everyone, not just themselves, right?

There will also be strict rules in place while the children are in each parent's custody, banning Clarkson and Blackstock from speaking negatively of the other to the youngsters, and ordering them to abstain from alcohol and marijuana within eight hours of driving a vehicle with the kids inside, reports TMZ.
