All-Star James Harden says Houston Rockets 'just not good enough'

The Rockets had informed teams that they want a young franchise cornerstone and a package of first-round draft picks and/or intriguing talent on rookie contracts in return for Harden, sources said. "Whether that's a complete buy-in at some level or a way to get it taken care of", coach Stephen Silas said on Wednesday. "I mean, this situation is insane".

"We're just not good enough", Harden said after the game.

After losing to the San Antonio Spurs last week, Anthony Davis was livid about his team's performance defensively and proceeded to call out his teammates after the game. Houston's commentators finally said something last night, joking, "If we wanna talk about some aesthetics, James Harden definitely had a pre-game meal, averaging 17-points per game-".

Harden's desires for a trade out of Houston were made clear in the lead-up to the season, and he seemed to imply Tuesday night with his closing remarks that he still desires to be traded. "It's something that I don't think can be fixed". "So, I don't have a good answer for you on that one, hopefully within the next little while I'll have a better answer for you".

It was Harden's fourth-consecutive game scoring 20 points or less, the longest such streak of his career since the 2011-12 season in Oklahoma City. "Can't lie about that", Wall said regarding how things have been going with him and Harden as a duo. "But the team atmosphere. the good of the team, I say everybody needs to be pointed in the same direction and that's what's best". Wall and Harden haven't meshed, the Rockets haven't defended well, and also are struggling from the outside. Like I told everybody tonight and told the guys before, when one through 15 guys are all on the same page and they commit and they know their role and they know what they want to get out of this and that's to win, it'll all be fine. There are few, if any, guys in the league who could do that better than Harden. Come on man, you want to jump off a cliff after nine games.

"My interest is to play with John Wall, to be brutally honest", Cousins said.
