Lenovo Introduces New Smart Eyewear ThinkReality A3

Lenovo released its new pair of sleek and lightweight AR glasses called the Thinkreality A3 today. The glasses that superimposes computer graphics over real-world views, require a tethered connection to a PC or Motorola smartphone. Since it's intended for big business use, Lenovo didn't deliver a shopper value point, yet it declared that the A3 will be accessible in select business sectors overall beginning mid-2021. The pricing, however, has not been revealed. According to a statement by Lenovo, the ThinkReality A3 is a part of comprehensive digital solutions offering to help transform business and bring smarter technology people.

The first edition is the more traditional of the two offerings with a tethered laptop or mobile workstation experience meant to power multiple, large virtual monitors in their field of view. One can tether this version to select Motorola smartphones for hands-free, AR-supported tasks in complex work environments. The ThinkReality A3 fits like sunglasses and can be improved with industrial frame options for safer and long-lasting use. It has dual fish-eye cameras to track and map the room around you.

The PC giant says the ThinkReality A3 AR smart glasses can be used for assisted workflows and immersive training, especially now when companies are looking to invest in smart collaboration technologies to increase efficiency and lower downtimes. The Industrial Edition is supported by the Think Reality software platform, which allows business customers to create, deploy and manage globally mixed reality applications and content with global support.

Over the weekend Lenovo unveiled its ThinkReality A3 headset via virtual briefing for the Consumer Electronics Showcase. The smart glasses are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 SoC. Lenovo envisions varied applications for the glasses-from industries like finance, architecture, and engineering to factory floors, laboratories, and busy retail and hospitality spaces, to "any remote and mobile worker where space and privacy are limited". The ThinkReality A6 headset features a full-featured sensor array, an expandable memory, 1080p resolution waveguide optics, and a removable battery for extended use of the head-mounted display.
