Mega Millions jackpot rises to $520 million

Mega Millions draws on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday's lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $520 million - making it potentially the eighth largest in the game's history. Tickets only cost $2 each with the Megaplier option being offered for a dollar more.

The Rolling Cash 5 jackpot for the next drawing is $110,000 for hitting all five numbers and the odds of winning are 1-in-575,757.

Meanwhile, the most recent person to claim a lottery win was a man from Iowa, who had been driving around with a $50,000 prize-winning ticket in his work auto for nearly a year.

· There were 1,192,949 tickets sold that won at least $4 in the drawing. Powerball numbers will be drawn Saturday at 11 p.m. A player wins the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The drawings take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:58 p.m. ET/9:58 p.m. CT. 89 of those tickets are actually worth $1,000 because the 2X Megaplier was purchased. The drawing is at 7:29 p.m. Deadline is 7:08 p.m.
